The THD Process

Every project begins with a complimentary 15-minute discovery call. This is a chance for me to learn more about your home, your goals, and how you live day to day. We’ll discuss the scope of your project, timeline expectations, and determine whether Tailored Home Design is the right fit for your home and family.

Our consultation is where the real groundwork begins. I walk through your space, discuss functionality, investment priorities, architectural details, and the vision for your home as a whole. This meeting allows me to uncover not only how you want your home to look, but how it needs to support your lifestyle.

Following the consultation, you will receive a tailored design proposal outlining the recommended scope of work and next steps.

Once retained, we begin building the foundation of your project. Depending on scope, this phase may include:

• Space planning 
• Schematic floor plans 
• Concept development 
• Material and finish direction 
• Cabinetry concepts 
• Plumbing and lighting selections 
• Mood boards and visual presentations 
• Curated samples and sourcing 

My process is rooted in creating thoughtful, cohesive homes that feel collected, functional, and deeply personal.

Your design presentation brings the vision to life through drawings, selections, and visual storytelling. Together, I review the overall direction, discuss priorities, and refine details to ensure the design feels aligned before documentation and ordering begin.

I intentionally focus on creating clarity early in the process so construction decisions feel confident rather than overwhelming.

Once selections are approved, THD manages the ordering and coordination of specified materials and furnishings. I work closely with trusted vendors, trades, and contractors to help maintain consistency throughout the project and support a smoother execution process.

For renovation and construction projects, THD remains involved throughout the build process to help answer design-related questions, review progress, and collaborate with the contractor as details unfold onsite.

As the project nears completion, I oversee the final layers that make a home feel finished. Styling, furnishings, artwork, textiles, and accessories are thoughtfully considered to create spaces that feel lived in, welcoming, and authentically yours.
