Hello, I’m Sara, the proud owner of THD
I spent the first 30 years of my life fully immersed in East Coast living. From a young age in Central New York, I found myself designing homes using an architectural drawing program my dad purchased for me at the grocery store. This early spark for design would set the stage for my future. My journey into design truly began in Boston, where I studied design and facility management. While my building systems and construction classes weren’t my natural strengths, I embraced the challenge and decided to turn that experience into a rewarding career.
I spent over a decade gaining invaluable experience in construction management, working on projects for renowned hospitals and universities alike. It was in this role that I truly discovered my passion for creating spaces that had a meaningful impact on people's lives. Throughout this time, I had the privilege of working closely with amazing clients, visionary architects, skilled engineers, and, of course, the unsung heroes – the tradesmen/women who bring it all to life.
Today, as the owner of Tailored Home Design, I bring my extensive experience in space planning, finish selections, and thoughtful design to every project. My background in construction management allows me to approach each design with a comprehensive understanding of both aesthetics and functionality. After years of creating impactful spaces in professional environments, I now focus on shifting that expertise into clients’ personal lives, helping them craft spaces that not only reflect their vision but also enhance their everyday experiences. I guide my clients through every step of the process, ensuring each space is carefully planned and every detail— from layout to finishes— perfectly aligns with their needs and lifestyle.
I approach each project with gratitude and a curious heart, and push myself to learn and grow with each experience. My goal is to create spaces that not only look beautiful but also have soul—spaces that rejuvenate and reflect the true essence of the people who live in them. It’s an honor to help my clients craft homes that are both functional and inspiring, and I’m deeply grateful for the trust they place in me to bring their visions to life.
